Dang Gui: (Chinese Angalica, Dong Quai, Polymorpha VAR, sinuses). Its root is used for medical purposes. It is a blood tonic, analgesic, uterine, stimulant, laxative, anti-spasmodic and circulatory stimulant and is widely used as a women’s tonic, particularly after child-birth. It must not be used during the period of pregnancy. It is also used to treat various menstrual problems and anaemic states.
